A Message from Your President
Happy New Year GaMPI!
It may be the start of 2012, but we are half-way into our current GaMPI year and your leadership team continues to work on your behalf to elevate and shape the meetings and events industry.
Did you know that your GaMPI leadership undertook the following tasks in the first 6 months of 2011-12?
- Initiated an executive leadership team that is fresh, passionate and committed to our members and industry (50% of your board members are new for 2011-12)
- Implemented a new events and education calendar that refocuses our efforts toward higher quality programs
- Began a branding initiative to move GaMPI strategically from “what we think your needs are”, to “what we know your needs are”, as it relates to, a) education and information access, b) website redesign and communications, c) career and leadership development, and d) networking and marketplace opportunities
- Brought our strategic partnership efforts (sponsorship) in-house and redirected our strategy toward long-term relationship building to ensure a solid financial foundation for the chapter
- Expanded our stakeholder volunteer opportunities and leadership development efforts that power the growth of your career path
- Initiated a partnership with Atlanta Magazine to expand our organization’s leadership role within the industry, and to expand our messaging to local residents and businesses and civic and governmental leaders (look for the insert in the February 2012 issue)
- Implemented an industry education and events calendar so that all sister organizations can better coordinate their programs, and communicate expanded marketplace and education offerings to their memberships
In which part of these efforts are you engaged?
As a new calendar year begins, and resolutions for the future are made, consider both your future and the future of our industry. Positive change does not just occur; it requires hard work and coordinated efforts; it necessitates strategic thinking, good planning, committed partners and effective accountability. We can create the meaningful and productive experiences that power the positive changes, which support our shared vision for the future.
Join your fellow members today and support our efforts to serve, strengthen and expand our chapter. See your personal ROI reach new heights!
